mefruside


<chemical> 4-chloro-n(1)-methyl-n(1)-(tetrahydro-2-methylfurfuryl)-m-benzenedisulfonamide. A diuretic that affects the concentrating ability of the kidney, increases sodium chloride excretion, but may not spare potassium. It inhibits carbonic anhydrases and may increase the blood uric acid level.

Pharmacological action: carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, diuretics, sulfamyl.
